Migraines can be intimidating to treat for some therapists. I have developed a treatment plan with simple techniques.
Studying and working with the reflexology charts, my technique involves treating the area that involves the neck. Logically most headaches are a result of tightness in the neck muscles. This could be from an allergen food or environment. It could also be from a medication your Dr. put you on thinking it would help some other condition going on in your body.
Most medications have headaches as a side effect. Most headaches will subside within minuets and sometimes they don't return. If they do return its reacting to something that is still in the G.I. tract. If the headache is medication driven, that can be addressed in a dietary manor by balancing the body so the body can heal itself so the medication isn't needed.
This method has shown to be very effective for whiplash injuries as well.
This homemade device is called still point treatment. It's 2 tennis balls placed in a sock with a knot tied so the tennis balls stay tight together. You place this at the base of the skull while laying on your back with your knees on a pillow and your hands on your stomach. You can roll around on these gently and massage a lot of the tight spots in the neck. This is very effective for home treatments.
