When I'm doing post operative care I generally accompany the patient to the surgeons appointment before the decision is even made. I also assist in pre op with cranial sacral soothing, and some lymphatic drainage to the area that's about to be operated on. I'm usually there for recovery or right after they come out of recovery. I can immediately get to work easing the trauma. Just resting my hands on the feet cancels out the immediate raging pain. I actually pull a little traction if the surgery is not lumbar related. Alternately releasing the traction creates a motion similar to walking. This will keep the lumbar from freezing up while you're in recovery. Mainly we wanna start the lymphatic drainage flowing as soon as possible. I felt I was more effective by canceling the pain my shoulder grabs or foot grabs. This is really beneficial for excruciating pain in any situation.
You can see in testimonials from the patients point of view.
In less than one year she has full range of motion back in her neck.
She still has some pain but of course she's been through a lot.
